Each year we pledge a minimum of £250 to a chosen charity. This helps to financially support their efforts and to shine some light on the amazing work that people are doing for their causes.

For years we supported the great work that Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) do through their 250 Club membership. Wanting to do more, we decided to chose a new charity each year so that more people could benefit from the money, time and opportunities that we can offer as a business.

The starting figure of £250 is pledged as a minimum amount given. This figure is then boosted by running dedicated activities, events and taking donations. As well as raising some extra dosh, these activities and events also help to raise the awareness of the charity which in turn helps support them in their efforts. These events and activities have included reduced costs or donations for equipment hire and activities and we have put on dedicated sessions to help increase donations as well as to help build the peoples awareness of these charities.

We like to work with small local charities as the help we can provide often goes a long way. If you know of a charity that would benefit from a year of our support then please get in touch.

2022 – Bude Food Bank+

In 2022 we chose to keep the Bude Food Bank+ as our Freewave Annual Charity. The main reason for this is due to the increasing need for support in our community as well as the incredible hard work that we see from the volunteers at the food bank.

This year we managed to raised £450 for the Bude Food Bank+. This donation was made up by £250 in cash as well as £200 in activity donations to be distributed in whatever way the food bank feel fit.

The money was raised by donating money the money paid for our services by local people and groups. If a local group got in contact and came on an activity with us then we would put aside some or all of the money paid as a donation to the food bank. This in turn helped raise more local awareness as well as some much needed cash.

As well as providing food parcels, Bude Food Bank+ also provide extra support such as financial and emotional help. We are in a time of need for this sort of support. You can get in touch with the Bude Food Bank+ to donate time or money. The easiest thing to do would be to follow their Facebook page for updates. Alternatively, to donate click here
