Our team of qualified and experienced coasteering instructors will guide you along the intertidal zone of our stunning coastline near Bude, Cornwall. As part of your coasteering experience, swim through huge Cornish sea caves, explore wildlife-rich rock pools, visit some of Bude’s hidden and inaccessible beaches and take the leap of faith from one of our fantastic cliff jumping spots!

Start your coasteering experience by meeting your coasteering guide at Bossiney Bay near Bude, Cornwall. Then it’s time to get kitted out with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet (remember those old trainers that you are happy to get wet!). It is important you listen to the coasteering safety briefing from the Lead Coasteering Guide. They will inform you of what to expect from your coasteering experience with us. Find out the ‘do’s’ and ‘do not’s’ before venturing down to the beautiful Cornish sea and start exploring Bude’s beautiful coastline as part of your amazing coasteering experience!

Coasteering sessions are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of everyone in your group. All coasteering safety equipment is provided, however you will need to bring old trainers that you are happy to get wet. You must be over 10 years old and able to swim 75 meters unaided to take part in coasteering. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We understand that organising a stag and hen party comes with its own set of challenges. Which is why we only take a 10% deposit to secure your ultimate weekend coasteering activity. But not only that… if your group is made up of more than 10 people then we will allow the ‘Bride’ or ‘Groom’ to go coasteering with us for free! Think of it like an early wedding gift from us

Brilliant. Big jumps

We were a small group with some coasteering experience and were looking to challenge ourselves with big jumps. Joe and Oscar were our guides, and we weren’t disappointed. After safely ensuring our ability regarding safety, technique and on smaller jumps they took us through a route where we could choose our individual limits, all in the same area.

Coasteering in Bossiney

We went coasteering at Bossiney Bay near Bude in Cornwall – the two guides were great and really made the trip, such an amazing morning swimming along the caves and rocks and jumping in to the water! We were also welcomed to the bay by a seal – not sure if that was included as part of the trip!

Superb!

Excellent; wouldn’t hesitate to book again, thank you Marco and Joe. Coasteering rocks!! Both my boys were booked for surf lessons on two consecutive days in August having used Freewave in Cornwall last summer. The first day surfing with Marco was brilliant and the boys really enjoyed it. The following day the waves were too small so we were offered coasteering instead which was amazing.

Awesome Experience

Coasteering FAQ’s

To take part in our Coasteering you must be over 10 years of age and be able to swim 75 meters unaided. Any under 16’s years will need to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the activity.

Yes, you can wear your own wetsuit on your coasteering activity. Please bring it along when first arriving at the surf school where one of the Freewave team will check that it is a suitable fit and the right suit for the conditions. Please do not forget to bring shoes that you are happy to get wet.

To take part in our Coasteering you must be over 10 years of age. Any under 16’s years will need to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the activity.

Coasteering activities take place at Bossiney Bay near Tintagel, PL34 0AY.

Please meet the Freewave Surf Academy team at Bossiney Bay car park which is located next to the old red telephone box. During the warmer months you can park in the grass carpark where there is cash donation.

Upon arrival please pop over and introduce yourself to a member of the Freewave Surf Academy team.

Please arrive to the start of your lesson with a swimsuit, a towel, shoes that you are happy to get wet and any medication that you may need.

For ease of changing, it is advisable that you arrive already wearing your swimsuit underneath your clothes.

Please arrive 15 minutes before you activity start time
