The National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ) is an internationally recognised beach lifeguard award. It is the highest British beach lifeguarding standard and is the preferred qualification needed to work in a paid or voluntary role as a:
- Beach Lifeguard for the RNLI
- Surfing instructor (ISA, ASI, SurfingGB or other)
- Bodyboarding Instructor
- Coasteering Guide
- Other ocean and surf based activities
Based in Bude, Cornwall we very fortunate to have access to a unique set of areas to run our beach lifeguard training courses. This includes a 93 meter open air swimming pool, an indoor pool (with waves), a sheltered breakwater bay, open surf beaches, a harbour, a canal and don’t forget the classroom! These areas allow each candidate to learn, practice and refine their skills giving you everything that they need to succeed and become a qualified Surf/Beach Lifeguard. Following your beach lifeguard training course You will be given guidance on how to apply for jobs in the industry and you can even use us as a reference on your employment application.
The National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ) training course is delivered over 5 days with 1 day for a assessment. This training courses compromises of several assessments, some of which can be taken through the duration of the training and some on a final assessment day.
